Who is this event for? This weekend residential is open to all interested in nature conservation!
What is it about? Our annual residential will consist of practical nature conservation during the Saturday at an Italian Garden near Totnes, followed by dinner and (indoor) camping at Burrator Discovery Centre on Dartmoor!
Activities will include camp-fire cooking, sparklers (Bonfire Night), pumpkin carving, bat and moth surveys, badger spotting, evening games and much more!
What time? We will leave from Bretonside Bus Station at 9:30am on Saturday 5th November and return at 14:00 on Sunday 6th November.
What do I need to bring with me? A sleeping bag, roll-mat, pyjamas, wash bag, torch, change of clothes for the evening, a towel, medication (if needed), woolly hat, scarf, jumper and waterproofs! If you do not have some of these, contact us as we may be able to lend some. Also bring a drink and packed lunch for Saturday, and wear suitable clothing and footwear for outdoors and the weather.
What will be provided? Dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday, and all survey equipment and ID guides!Tea/coffee & biscuits will also be available throughout the weekend! Waterproofs and wellies can be lent if needed (please state sizes required if requested with your booking).
What's the cost? Completely FREE!
Please note that our events are extremely popular and so operate on a first come first serve booking system.
We often have reserve lists for events, so please notify us of any cancellations AT LEAST 24hrs prior to the event, so that we can give your space to someone else.
