Who is this event for? This 24 hour bioblitz is open to the public. It is suitable for all ages and abilities.
Where is it held? The Marine Biological Association, The Hoe, Plymouth. PL1 2PB
What is it about? Become a wildlife explorer for a day and discover what’s living right on your doorstep by joining in at your local BioBlitz event. Our team of experienced naturalists and wildlife watchers need your help to find and identify as many different species of birds, bugs, plants and beasties as we can before the clock runs out. Just like a real scientific expedition, everything we find will be documented and passed on to local and national databases that monitor our local wildlife!
What time? Plymouth Environmental Action will be specifically running a pond survey on Saturday 15th, but other surveys will be going on too for you to join in with, so will be meeting at 10am on Saturday. However if you want to join the whole 24hour event (starting on Friday 14th October) please email email@example.com to let them know.
What do I need to bring with me? A drink, packed lunch, suitable clothing and footwear for the weather.
What will be provided? Tea and biscuits, and all survey equipment and ID guides! Waterproofs and wellies can also be provided if needed (please state sizes required if requested with your booking).
What's the cost? Completely FREE!
Please note that our events are extremely popular and so operate on a first come first serve booking system.
We do however hold reserve lists for events, so please could you notify us of any cancellations 24hrs prior to the event.
