Want to know the difference between a Hazel and a Hawthorn tree?! This course is ideal for those who want to learn the common British Trees. This one-day ‘Introduction to Summer Tree ID’ course caters for those interested in trees at beginner level but welcomes more experienced naturalists. This course will be taught by an experienced botanist with an infectious enthusiasm for trees!
Where? Cothele National Trust Estate, Cornwall
The course will cover an introduction to trees, their ecology and uses, followed by several activities based around learning and remembering tree species by their leaves, bark and flowers/seeds.
The course fee includes tea/coffee, all course materials, and transport from Plymouth City Centre. Waterproofs and wellies can also be provided if needed (please request these with your booking).
There will be a minibus pick up at Plymouth Bretonside bus station at 9.30am and arriving back at around 4.30pm. You can meet us on site at 10:30am if you want to make your own way there.
What to bring: a drink, packed lunch, and suitable clothing and footwear. Optional items to bring: hand lens, camera and ID books/guides.
Cost: £10 per person. A certificate of attendance will be presented to each attendee at the end of the workshop.
